Adventure is a path. Real adventure – self-determined, self-motivated, often risky – forces you to have firsthand encounters with the world. The world the way it is, not the way you imagine it. Your body will collide with the earth and you will bear witness. In this way you will be compelled to grapple with the limitless kindness and bottomless cruelty of humankind – and perhaps realize that you yourself are capable of both. This will change you. Nothing will ever again be black-and-white. – Mark Jenkins

About Me

My name is Anna and I built this website to describe how I work. I see life as a series of journeys. Some we choose, some are chosen for us. Some are gifts full of lushness and beauty and pass by too quickly, others try us and appear as barren landscapes - trips that will never end.

The thing with counseling is you get a fresh perspective on what is happening around you. When you’ve been trying to figure something out, a problem, a situation, a relationship issue that just isn’t healthy, isn’t what you want it to be - you sometimes need fresh eyes or a creative approach to help you determine what the issue is. By working with you, getting to understand you and your perspective on the issue, I will use my training to help you determine better actions to take and more effective routes to get to the result that you desire.

By exploring the issues that you’re struggling with we will find a path through them. And often times the journeys that are the hardest have gifts to give us as well. But the struggle is too hard and the burdens too heavy to gain the insight while you’re trying to gain enough momentum to finish the trip. You need someone to help carry the load and remind you why you’re taking the trip and the destination you’re shooting for, someone who will then help you look for the gifts as well.

I came to this work through my own journey of trauma and abuse but found professional success. Work as Executive in Charge of Production of a national TV show resulted in me doing crisis work for the show and led me to realize I belonged doing mental health, helping others on their path. I am spiritual and believe that a force bigger than me brings my clients to me.
